Seasonal Flavors; Inspired Recipes
As we transition from winter to spring, it’s the perfect time to refresh the kitchen with bright, seasonal flavors. We’re excited to spotlight two of our favorite culinary brands—Los Poblanos Lavender Co. from New Mexico and Stella’s Table from Sonoma County, California.

The Story Behind Los Poblanos Lavender Co.
Matt and Teresa Rembe, owners of Los Poblanos Lavender Co., have deep roots in New Mexico. Matt’s family moved to their farm in 1934, and in 1999, they planted what is now 25 acres of lavender. Today, Los Poblanos is known for its commitment to sustainable agriculture, historic preservation, and local artisans. Their bath and body products are 100% natural, free from sulfates and parabens, and never tested on animals.
In addition to their apothecary line—featuring soaps, lotions, body oils, and lavender mist—we also carry their culinary products. Their lavender sugar and edible lavender add a sophisticated touch to drinks, baked goods, and more. Their restaurant chef was recently honored as a James Beard finalist, a testament to the exceptional quality of their farm-to-table approach.

The Story Behind Stella’s Table
I’ve known these sisters for over 20 years. Their family welcomed me to Petaluma when I first moved there, and I’ve shared countless laughs, meals, and memories with them. Their sister, Kelly, even used to peel my oranges at lunch because I hated doing it myself.
At the store, customers can sample their jams and salts, perfect for charcuterie boards, sandwiches, sauces, and entrees.

Ways to enjoy
-
- Add their flavored salts to homemade or store-bought sauces, adjusting for salt content before seasoning further
- Try their fig jam with arugula and mozzarella on pizza or sandwiches
- Bake brie topped with peach spice jam
- Drizzle lemon jelly over burrata with fresh rosemary
- For a quick snack, make popcorn (microwave works too), coat with butter or olive oil, then season with porcini salt and parmesan—it’s like truffle-parmesan popcorn

- As winter fades and spring emerges, these flavors bring a fresh take to seasonal cooking. Whether it’s the floral elegance of lavender or the rich, savory notes of Italian-inspired jams and salts, there’s something special to enjoy in every kitchen.
